The office of the Controller Local Audit (Defence Production) -- CLA (DP) -- has been created by the orders of the Ministry of Defence in 2012 to carry out the internal audit of Defence Production units/ formations. The creation of this office extended the scope of internal audit to a widely unexplored area and corrected the flawed practice of conducting the internal audit of these formations by payment offices. The creation of CLA (DP) is an attempt to establish internal audit mechanism in the areas of Defence Production by:
Developing internal audit as an aid to top Defence management.
Providing objective assurance to national oversight bodies.
Helping our clients improve systems to achieve goals with efficient, effective use of resources and dependable internal controls.
